Christmas is truly a time for reflection!
As the year draws to a close I can but reflect on what has been a very challenging and uncertain year for us all. With that reflection comes a sincere thanks from all of us at Alexandra’s Africa, to you for your support, your interest, your engagement, for simply staying in touch with us over the past year whilst we had to ‘close our doors’. We like so many businesses have been significantly impacted by the pandemic, so every comment, every like, every letter we have received – we are truly appreciative. We have also gained many new followers over the last 6 months which we are delighted about 🙌🏾 A hearty welcome to you all!
Amidst all this tribulation, I have marvelled at the courage and efforts of so many, to help communities and wildlife conservation workers impacted during the pandemic in our area of operation. As Alexandra’s Africa is part of a much larger sustainable travel network, we see examples every day of the tireless efforts being made to help others. Many of these we have shared with you on social media. It truly lifts our spirits and we hope it does yours! Whilst acknowledging the challenges and loss the Covid pandemic has brought, it has also created a much greater awareness of the need to protect our planet, the environment and all wildlife and communities dependent on it. That is the spirit of our Christmas message this year.
With the New Year, comes new hope – and we are looking forward to our Safaris and Retreats recommencing in June 2021. We will be telling you more about those, and about the lectures and talks I have given this year during lockdown, and about some of the community work we have been involved in, and about our new videos in our January/February Newsletter. We are also launching a new carbon off-setting scheme – so there is much to tell you about.
